The Spice Merchant (Ex Black Horse) on the edge of Fleet in Crookham Village. They welcome the community and believe in bringing the community closer together and they host many events during the year from Comedy, Physic nights to Beer Festivals.

October, we have a semi-spooky and sparkly night!
One of our lovely members Jane Hordle will be telling us a spooky tale or two and we will have some fun sparkly spooky games to help the evening go with a wizard whoosh! :) Well ish ha ha
Please feel free to wear something sparkly, halloweenish or
just whatever you want to wear, its all good.

Parking in the Spice Merchant car park at the venue or on
the road, there is also parking behind the Crookham Village Social Club if
needed, the address for that is :
The Street, Crookham Village, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 5SJ
(where there is also the WI building at the back to the left, so lots of
parking as it all leads out to a field for walkers).
We always have a light meal and a fabulous speaker, it is an
easy social night or a fun activity.
** All dietary needs and preferences as in Vegetarian,
Vegan, and Gluten-Free MUST be made aware to me (Mandy) before the event
please**

Premium Members £16.00 ( Means you have paid for annual
membership)
Free Members £20.00 (This means you have not paid for the
annual membership).

Info: Secret Santa, Festive games, Festive conversation and Pip will be helping us with ways to tie beautiful bows to give our gifts that extra festive lift!
All you have to do is:
1. Let me know you are coming along
2. Wear something festive, whatever you want!
3. Bring a secret Santa gift to the value of £10.
4. Bring your gorgeous festive vibe a festive top tip. It could be re cooking, wrapping, card sending, late card sending, gifting anything festive that you feel you want to share (If you have one).

January LLL Club Night!
This month, in fact, next week, we have back the lovely, enthusiastic and hugely knowledgeable Kate Cottrell from Scoop.
She is single-handedly ish, helping us all to be much more sustainable and she is amazing!
She was a guest speaker and one of our most popular speakers during lockdown.
Kate will be here to speak again on Tuesday 28th of January, so do bring along a notepad or get ready to make notes on your phone.

They are trying to bring the most environmentally friendly products to Fleet which remove the need for plastic packaging, support a greener lifestyle.
It’s been a journey of epic proportions for Kate & her amazing team.

I bought some fab gifts from there in December and loved seeing all the new products and getting my husband his favourite chocolate covered raisins as well as some amazing jam and better than Liz Arden’s 24 hour thing the locally made B Balm! (I can say this with confidence as I’ve been using it for years and I’ve had skin issues and I had some training with Liz Arden products which are awesome but this B Balm is magic!
It’s next to Café Amici Fleet.

We have such a fab speaker for this month, here is some info about the ever-entertaining David Ratcliffe.
If you have seen a Spitfire above this area over the years, it is likely to have been David!
David 'Rats' Ratcliffe
Pilot
David or ‘Rats’ as he is known by everyone, joined the RAF as a pilot in 1979. Following officer training in the RAF he flew selection on the Chipmunk, before spending a year at RAF Cranwell flying the Jet Provost.
Advanced flying training on the Hawk led to the ‘Wings’ flying badge awarded in May 1982, followed by tactical weapon training on the Hawk learning low level formation and air combat.
David flew the Lightning at RAF Binbrook in 1983, but then re-roled onto helicopters flying the Wessex in Northern Ireland, Hong Kong then instructing at RAF Shawbury. He moved onto the Chinook in 1991 serving in the Falkland Islands, Bosnia and Germany, returning to the UK to instruct on the Operational Conversion Unit conversion unit at RAF Odiham.

Event Performance Time: 3pm
Event Duration: Approximately 90 minutes
Event Location: ABBA Arena, Pudding Mill Lane, London E15 2RU
I have an allocation of tickets 50 available to book, 25 Dance Floor/25 Seated. Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please advise me if you would like to be seated or prefer to boogie on the dance floor - dance floor and seated tickets are the same price. Seated tickets are allocated in Block F in Rows J-K-L. The coach will hold 36 people.
Ticket only price: £95.00
Ticket price including return coach: £130.00

Coach pick-up point: Bournemouth via Ringwood collection point and a toilet stop at Fleet Services enroute to ABBA Arena, Pudding Mill Lane, London E15 2RU.
Coach Departure Time: Approximately 9am (This will be confirmed once the exact passenger numbers are confirmed). Journey Time: Subject to traffic enroute. However, it is expected to take approximately 3 to 3.5 hours.
Coach Collection Time: Approximately 5:30pm
You will be met/escorted throughout the journey and the event by your Live Laugh Love hosts. Your event planner (Lisa) will also be on hand to help you with any questions and escort you into the venue.
Full payment required at the time of booking to secure your place. BOOKING DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY 12TH MARCH 2025. (This payment is non-refundable).
