**Live Laugh Love Ladies Club Night - Speaker - DogsnHomes **

We are so lucky to have DogsnHomes taking time out during their busy schedule to come and speak to us, they do a huge amount of work to re home dogs who are desperately in need of loving and caring new homes.

Who Are They?

DogsnHomes are a dog rescue and rehoming charity, based in Fleet,

For July, we have Paul Kerensa as our speaker!

Paul Kerensa is a comedian, writer, broadcaster, lecturer and radio historian, working in TV, radio, print and the stage.

As a stand-up, Paul has performed over 3,000 gigs ranging from The Comedy Store and Jongleurs to Montreal Comedy Festival, via a dozen Edinburgh Fringe solo shows. He won ITV's Take the Mike Award and was a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards, Wilkinson Sword’s Cutting Edge of Comedy and The Daily Telegraph Open Mic Awards. He’s known as a warm, friendly, creative performer, often mixing music, props, gags and games into his act. Previous stand-up shows have included a time-travelling tribute to Back to the Future and a re-enactment of the first BBC broadcast, as well as regular sets of gags and stories.

Paul has co-written various TV and radio comedies, including BBC’s Miranda, Not Going Out, Top Gear, Buble at the BBC, TFI Friday and ITV’s Royal Variety Performance, as well as for CBBC. On the radio Paul is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show’s ‘Pause For Thought’ and has presented BBC Radio Sussex/Surrey’s Sunday Breakfast. Paul’s books include People’s Book Prize finalist Hark! The Biography of Christmas and a range of children’s books.  For the stage, Paul’s children’s play Let My People Go had a sell-out one-night-only at the Royal Albert Hall.

His latest project retells the BBC’s origin story - via stage show, podcast (The British Broadcasting Century) and forthcoming novel. His research has uncovered various forgotten ‘first firsts’ of broadcasting, especially forgotten female pioneers, from the first DJ to the first dramatist, on whom Paul is writing a biography and a dramatised script. As a radio historian, Paul has appeared on the BBC Six O’Clock News and Radio 4’s The Media Show, as well as presented at academic conferences.

Hi Ladies!

I hope you are enjoying August so far, the last couple of days have been gorgeous!

Please find the info for our August club night for your information.

August 27th – We don’t have a speaker, as per previous August club nights.

This will be our own club night , out 'bring something to share/talk about night’.

This is always such a lovely night, as we get to learn a little more about each other in all sorts of creative ways.

So, for those who are coming along in August, if you want to, think of something to bring along that has been an interest to you, it could be a passion, a great read, a great story, a photograph, a fav holiday, or something you have achieved at home or at work, your fav music and why, a place you love in the UK and why. It could be something new and exciting that you have tried, such as an activity, cold water swimming, games club, as well as anything homemade, arty, creative, etc and please note that anything goes and we all learn so much from each other.

If you don’t have time, or don’t have anything that you wish to talk about, then please come along anyway for the conversation, the company and the lovely food.

We always have a light meal and water, and a fabulous speaker, it is an easy social night or a fun activity.

Event Info: August Club Night - Mini Inspiring & Creative Writing Workshop

We are half way through September and I am only just catching up from August!

I reached a new decade in August and boy was it a busy one, so please excuse the late update. 

How was your August?  I hope you are all well and feeling the cosy vibes of autumn.

Let's get on to the September club night, as some of you may know I had a tricky time trying to get a speaker for September, it was like the okey cokey, I had one, one minute and then not the next!!

So for September, I am going to run a lovely mini creative and inspiring writing workshop, it will help to inspire and get some beautiful things down onto paper.

I don't teach you how to write, but I do help you to get your lovely pen onto paper, I help you with ideas, creativity for short pieces, poems, just gorgeous thoughts and some emotional stuff.

October, we have a semi-spooky and sparkly night!

One of our lovely members Jane Hordle will be telling us a spooky tale or two and we will have some fun sparkly spooky games to help the evening go with a wizard whoosh! :) Well ish ha ha 

Please feel free to wear something sparkly, halloweenish or just whatever you want to wear, its all good.
