THE POUR HOUSE

Welcome to The Pour House, located in the heart of Ringwood!  We are thrilled to be able to welcome you to our club, held at The Pour House, where women from all walks of life come together to connect, inspire, and have a great time. Whether you prefer an evening club or a lunch club, we have you covered with our monthly meetings.

Formerly known as Ringwood Social Club, the club closed in 2011, but after an extensive refurbishment it opened its doors in July 2023, and this beautiful 300 year old building now offers us a warm, inviting, safe place to meet. It is the ideal space where women can relax, unwind, and enjoy each other's company. With ample parking available at the back (accessed via Strides Lane) and on the streets, you can easily join us without any hassle.

Through the coming year we have a range of exciting events and inspiring speakers lined up for you. From engaging workshops to thought-provoking talks, we strive to offer a diverse range of activities that cater to all interests. There will also be special events where clubs from across the UK will come together, so watch this space.

Pre-booking is essential. We understand that everyone has different dietary requirements, and we are more than happy to accommodate them. Please indicate any special requirements/allergies at the payment screen and we will ensure that your needs are met.

Jack the Ripper - The Masonic Vendetta part 2

We welcome back Mike Davies to present part two of his talk on Jack the Ripper and the Masonic Vendetta.

The Ripper’s reign of terror was for only nine weeks leaving the police and the terrified public with the question of ‘why did the murders suddenly stop….or did they?’

With their Ripper file still empty, hear how Metropolitan police commissioner and Freemason Charles Warren planned an outrageous frame up as they desperately tried to catch the Ripper.

Listen to the ‘pantomime’ antics of London’s finest police force as they dressed officers as women, brought in the first Bloodhounds, and the great story of Smoker the famous sniffer dog who threw the biggest spanner in the works at Scotland Yard.

All this and more will be explained as the story of the world’s most famous serial killer comes to a convincing end.

See you there…….keep looking over your shoulder!

“The Wonder Girl Trombonist”

To celebrate International Women's Day we will today be hearing the wonderful story of a young woman, who after taking brass lessons from her father at the age of 10, went on to be known as "The Wonder Girl Trombonist". A Salvationist, this young lady was invited by Sir John Barbirolli to join the Halle Orchestra, meaning she was the first female trombonist to hold a principal position in a British Orchestra. Maisie Ringham was one of the great legends in the brass world. Her career spanned 8 decades and many of today's professional brass players were originally taught by her. Join us to hear her fascinating life story and celebrate this truly inspirational lady.
