Welcome to The Pour House, located in the
heart of Ringwood! We are thrilled to be
able to welcome you to our club, held at The Pour House, where women from all walks of life come
together to connect, inspire, and have a great time. Whether you prefer an
evening club or a lunch club, we have you covered with our monthly meetings.
Formerly known as Ringwood Social Club, the club
closed in 2011, but after an extensive refurbishment it opened its doors in
July 2023, and this beautiful 300 year old building now offers us a warm,
inviting, safe place to meet. It is the ideal space where women can relax,
unwind, and enjoy each other's company. With ample parking available at the
back (accessed via Strides Lane) and on the streets, you can easily join us
without any hassle.
Through the coming year we have a range of
exciting events and inspiring speakers lined up for you. From engaging
workshops to thought-provoking talks, we strive to offer a diverse range of
activities that cater to all interests. There will also be special events where
clubs from across the UK will come together, so watch this space.
Pre-booking is essential. We understand that everyone has different
dietary requirements, and we are more than happy to accommodate them. Please
indicate any special requirements/allergies at the payment screen and we will
ensure that your needs are met.

We can't wait to welcome you!
Jack the
Ripper - The Masonic Vendetta part 2
We welcome
back Mike Davies to present part two of his talk on Jack the Ripper and the
Masonic Vendetta.
The Ripper’s
reign of terror was for only nine weeks leaving the police and the terrified
public with the question of ‘why did the murders suddenly stop….or did they?’
With their
Ripper file still empty, hear how Metropolitan police commissioner and
Freemason Charles Warren planned an outrageous frame up as they desperately
tried to catch the Ripper.
Listen to
the ‘pantomime’ antics of London’s finest police force as they dressed officers
as women, brought in the first Bloodhounds, and the great story of Smoker the
famous sniffer dog who threw the biggest spanner in the works at Scotland Yard.
All this and
more will be explained as the story of the world’s most famous serial killer
comes to a convincing end.
See you there…….keep looking over your shoulder!

Embrace
the Journey: One Woman's 'JOGLE' of Life and Adventure to Cycle from John o'
Groats to Land's End
We are really pleased to be welcoming Emma Wood this evening, who, back in May 2023, set off on the journey of her life, cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End, accompanied by her Dad in a support van. As a busy Mum of 2 with a successful career, it was no mean feat just getting started, requiring diligent planning and organising, but she did it, and has now written her book to assist in the planning and inspire others to embark on their own journeys.
Join us to hear Emma’s remarkable story….
Ayurveda – How to Eat Well - an introduction to Ayurveda in cooking
Penny Spurr is
an Ayurveda Practitioner and a member of the Ayurveda Professionals
Association. Penny’s book – How to Eat Well’ published in March 2025 is an
easy-to-read introduction to Ayurveda written from a practical cook’s
perspective.
With a background in the hospitality and health care professions, she is passionate about the link between health and food. Penny’s interest in this led her to complete a two-year diploma in “Ayurveda” in Nagpur, India. Ayurveda is a traditional medical system originating from Ancient India and demonstrates how the five elements (ether, air, fire, water and earth) are made up in our bodies as the Doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and in the food we eat through the six tastes (sweet, sour, salt, pungent, bitter and astringent). The wisdom of Ayurveda teaches us how to live well and this evening Penny will be sharing her knowledge about how you might incorporate this in your cooking.
Prior to her talk on Wednesday 21st May 2025 you might like to visit her website (www.pennyspurr.uk) and complete the questionnaire (found in the information section). This will give you a guide to your unique Dosha balance.

Get Your Summer Glow!
I am delighted
to welcome back the lovely Sarah Parkinson, who you will recall talked to us
previously about her career transition from making prosthetics for the NHS to
the world of aesthetics.
During her time
with the NHS, Sarah was often called upon to provide camouflage make-up for
patients undergoing surgery. This is yet another transferable skill that Sarah
has been able to take with her into the world of beauty, and with summer fast
approaching, Sarah will be showing us how to get a great summer look, that will
give us a lovely glow and make the most of our features in a natural way.
Our free raffle
will take place at the beginning of the afternoon, when one lucky lady will win
the chance to be our model and have a makeover with Sarah!
Book early as
Sarah is one of our most popular speakers!
Life on Concorde
We are joined
today by Dick Bell whose career with British Airways spanned 15 years
as Cabin Service Director on the World’s most iconic plane, Concorde. Amongst
those he met on this amazing supersonic aircraft, were members of the Royal
Family, A-list celebrities and many more jet setting elite who flew across the
Atlantic in about 2.5 hours! Dick will be telling us about the
challenges the crew faced serving these famous faces and hopefully spilling the
beans on what some of them got up to whilst travelling at twice the speed of
sound!
