I am Sally
and I am excited to be welcoming you to the Poundbury -
Dorchester Live Laugh Love Ladies Club.
I was born
in Dorchester and spent my childhood living on a farm near the village of Moreton
and then as a teenager the family moved to the village.
When I got married in 1987, I moved to Dorchester. I now live on the outskirts
of the town with my husband Malcolm and terrier rescue dog Millie.
I spent 28
years working in local and HQ NHS administration of which 16 years of those
years as a Personal Assistant to the Director of Finance.
Socialising
and being involved with groups and organisations have played a big part of my
life. I have played league skittles for 40 years and a league committee member
for 38 years and hold the role of Vice Chair of the Dorchester & District
Skittles League.
Through
being a member of the Women’s Institute, in 2019 I became interested in playing
Walking Netball even though I had not played netball since being at senior school.
In 2021 I undertook training to become a Walking Netball Host. In early 2024 I
helped set up a new Walking Netball Group for the Dorchester area. With the
experience of being a Host I undertook a First Aid Course to gain a certificate
to enable me to be an Engiand Netball Community Coach for Walking Netball.
I love
travelling, especially cruises but also love visiting Ireland and the Channel
Islands. We regularly visit the New Forest where we have a static caravan so
thoroughly enjoy taking short and refreshing breaks there.
I have been
a member of Live Laugh Love Ladies Club since 2019 and have enjoyed attending
my home group and have been welcomed at other nearby groups. I have also attended
organised events and parties for Live Laugh Love members and through all these
meetings and events have met so many lovely ladies.
My motto is
that “Things happen for a Reason” I did not think that when I first walked into
my very first meeting in 2019 that in 2025 that I would be walking in as a
Host!
I look
forward to welcoming you to a meeting soon.
